chief writes Hello, my name is John, but everyone I know calls me "Chief". I have been fortunate to grow up in and around the woods and water of Southeast Arkansas. Down here our primary pastimes usually involve a gun, a fishing rod, a boat, or some combination of the three.

I've spent countless hours chasing antlers, feathers and fins. I'm certainly not alone. My crew, locally reffered to as the "Bayou Boys", accompanies me on most of my adventures. We provide each other with an endless supply of valuable information, jokes, enjoyable times, as well as worthless advice. In addition to the local game of ducks, deer, and freshwater fish, I have also had the opportunity to enjoy saltwater fishing and scuba diving around the globe. My work brings me together with some of the finest sportsman around, and many have been kind enough to share their own flavor of the natural world with me. I hope you will enjoy this site and the good people featured in it. It is part hunting trip, part fishing trip, and part ego trip. But it also features some good information and solid ideas that may make your own explorations more enjoyable. We are all on this planet for such a short time, our goal should be to learn as much as we can and enjoy this vast natural world to the fullest. We are not professional outdoorsman (obviously). We are just like you, some guys who love to explore unique things, interesting places, and partake in adventures that can't be scheduled to the last detail, bought with a credit card, or neatly packaged into a half hour of prime time viewing. If you are like us, then you spend your time during the week working hard and your weekends playing hard. It is my sincere hope that you will enjoy this site as a glimpse into the world of like minded individuals who enjoy the chase as much as the kill and set aside some time and resources to protect our natural world.
