Every man should be so lucky as I have been to have been ownedfor a time - by a patient and loving dog. I borrowed the following which came from an ancient Newfoundland Headstone over the grave of a dog called "Boatswain" I thought it was a fitting tribute to a friend so fine and fair as my girl Juicy:

"Near this spot are deposited the remains of one who possessed Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity, and all the virtues of Man without his Vices. This Praise, which would be unmeaning Flattery if inscribed over human ashes, is but a just tribute to the Memory of Juicy, a Dog.
